JILL LAWRENCE VAUGHAN, APR

​

 Jill Lawrence Vaughan has more than 25 years of communications and leadership experience in economic development, government, and consumer products. She has a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for promoting local, regional, and state locations for business recruitment and expansion. She served as Communications Manager for the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) for eight years, working with three governors, promoting Virginia as a business location and international trade leader. Efforts helped Virginia gain exposure in national media and capture the title of Best State for Business.

 

Jill also served as Communications Director for the Virginia Lottery for 14 years, overseeing all internal and external communications for the organization generating more than $1 billion in revenue each year. In her role at the Lottery, her in-house/agency team won two Silver Anvils from the Public Relations Society of America for innovative community relations campaigns focused on the Lottery’s massive funding support of K-12 education. 

 

Her firm currently assists government, corporate, small business, and non-profit clients. As a new agency, JLV Communications was recognized with 10 Virginia PR Awards in 2021 and 2022, including the top Award of Excellence in the Integrated Communications Campaign category.

 

Jill is a graduate of Virginia Tech and is accredited by the Public Relations Society of America. She is Past President of PRSA Richmond, current Chair of the Independent Practitioner's Section and serves on the organization's foundation. She is a 2018 LEAD Virginia graduate and a Certified Facilitator of Appreciative Inquiry. She was a 2022 Finalist for the Rising Star Award for Women Entrepreneurs by NAWBO Richmond.
